Global Fabric takes a modular approach to provide you with cloud-like flexibility so that your network can adapt with your business needs, whilst also providing you with greater control over your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Our single platform is service agnostic – right down to the port itself. This means that you do not have to buy multiple physical components dedicated to each network service.
Global Fabric consists of the following key components:

Roadmap items, see roadmap for availability details.
Day0 virtual service insertion available by integrating Cloud Connect Edge with Global Fabric
When connected to BT Global Fabric you have the flexibility to deploy and associate any combination of network services, move between network services, and flex your network service bandwidth effortlessly in near real-time on your customer or cloud ports. Optionally you can also insert and service chain Virtual Network Functions (VNF) to deliver full end to end solutions.
With flexible network management from Global Fabric, you can choose to consume your network under a self-service model or choose from co-managed or fully managed options.
Customer Port
Service agnostic connection to BTs Global Fabric Network.
Available customer port options:
Port Only - ‘on net’ ports physically dedicated to you and where you are responsible for providing onward connectivity from these ports to your environment.
Data centre – ports physically dedicated to you that are delivered to your data centre cabinet location.
Customer Premise - ports delivered directly into your premises using an access line.
All customer port types support a number of resilience models to safeguard and accelerate your business operations by maximising service availability.
Network Services
Interconnect your data centres, premises, clouds, and partner locations through secure private networking (IPVPN, L2 Ethernet) or to enhanced business grade internet. You can deploy and associate any combination of networks services thereafter and you can flex these on-demand with no commercial lock-in. These are all fully automated and delivered in near real time.
Available network service options:
IPVPN – connect your locations locally, nationally, and globally with private, secure, and highly performant IP-based (layer 3) any-to-any Virtual Private Networks.
Internet – provide robust, and high-performance Internet access to your locations globally.
E-Line* – connect your locations in a way that works for you with Ethernet (layer 2) VPN connectivity between two or more locations. Providing you the flexibility to build point-to-point, hub and spoke and meshed networks.
E-LAN* - connect your locations with freedom and flexibility with an Ethernet (layer 2) Virtual Private LAN service (VPLS) that offers multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity between your locations.
*Available in future releases
Optional Virtual Service Insertion*
BT Global Fabric will provide you with the ability to add additional BT and partner services with our simplified virtual service insertion. Products such as SD-WAN, security and multi-cloud routing can be layered on at the click of a button via the Global Fabric app and BT’s marketplace*.
*Available in future releases. While we are getting ready, you can benefit from virtual service insertion by integrating Global Fabric with Connected Cloud Edge from BT. For further details see CCE or contact your BT account manager.
Cloud Port*
Service agnostic private connection to Hyperscaler Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and wider BT portfolio.
Hyperscalers – Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and more.
BT Portfolio - Global Voice, Digital Workplace, Security (Eagle-I and RSS) platforms and more.
Available cloud port options:
Shared – logically dedicated connection(s) to a CSP over pre-established shared resilient physical connections to a CSP location. These logical connections are zero-cost and are established within minutes.
Dedicated – on-demand dedicated physical connections for you to a CSP location. These dedicated connections provide additional peering flexibility and offer higher maximum bandwidth.
*Available in future releases. While we are getting ready, you can benefit from cloud connectivity by integrating Global Fabric with Connected Cloud Edge from BT. For further details see CCE or contact your BT account manager.
